Benjamin Banneker hosted an Anti-Violence Rally on April 5, 2008. The rally was well attended by the Banneker Family and the Englewood community. Also in attendance was Mayor Richard M. Daley, Superintendent Jody Weis, Acting 7th Commander Captain Edward Kulbida in the absence of Commander Keith Calloway, State Senator Jacqueline Collins, Alderman Fredrenna Lyle, various fire chiefs, other police commanders, and various organizations. The rally was televised on various television channels. The rally showed our commitment to promoting the safety of our children.
